Cedarville senior Mia Burr is one of the key players in the Indians getting one of the top seeds in the Division VII district tournament draw.
XENIA — Volleyball district tournament brackets were released on Sunday with several local teams getting top five seeds.
Beavercreek in Division I and Bellbrook in D-III both earned a two-seed in their respective brackets. Carroll got a four-seed in D-III, and did Cedarville in D-VII.
Bellbrook won another SWBL regular season title this year. Cedarville is in the race for the OHC South with several games left to play, and Beavercreek is in second in the GWOC.
Other single-digit seeds went to Greeneview as a six in D-V, and Yellow Springs got an eight in D-VI.
Xenia High School will be busy in district play as it will host the majority of D-III matchups. Bellbrook, Carroll, Fairborn and Xenia all are scheduled to play there.
Bellbrook and Carroll could meet in the district semifinals, as could Xenia and Fairborn.
Fairborn High School also is scheduled to host the district semifinals, and regional semifinals and finals in D-VII.
This is the first year of the OHSAA expanding volleyball from four to seven divisions. Individual rounds were renamed to remove the “sectional” designation, with the new names being the district opening round and quarterfinals.
All D-I and D-II begin with the district semifinal round, with D-III through D-VII expanding out as needed.
