Fairborn to hold one-time brush collection

FAIRBORN — The City of Fairborn has scheduled a one-time brush collection for the week of Oct. 7.

Crews will work north to south to collect debris. Residents are asked to have their debris stacked neatly by the curb or edge of the roadway, and away from obstructions like fire hydrants, street sign poles, mailboxes, and trees to accommodate efficient pickup.

Monday, Oct. 7: South Broad/N. Broad, N Maple/North of East Dayton area. Additionally, subdivisions along Armstrong Rd; including Cold Springs Ct.

Tuesday, Oct. 8: East of 1-675. Excluding subdivisions along Armstrong Rd as well as Cold Springs Ct.

Wednesday, Oct. 9: East of S Maple, North of (and including) East Dayton Yellow Springs, West of I-675

Thursday, Oct. 10: East of Kaufman, West of (and including) S Maple, and North of (including) West Dayton Yellow Springs. Additionally, the area west of Kaufman and South of East Dayton

Friday, Oct. 11: South of Dayton Yellow Springs Rd and North of I-675. Also including remote area around WSU.

If you have debris you would like to get rid of before next week, Greene County Environmental Services is accepting storm debris at 2145 Greene Way Boulevard, Xenia. It is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Acceptable items are leaves, grass and brush (up to eight feet long and four inches in diameter). Brush more than four inches in diameter must be cut to firewood length.
