Xenia athletics honored the life of Kevin Leroy Jenkins, Jr., on Thursday in between the Warner Middle School seventh and eighth grade football games at Doug Adams Stadium. A jersey was presented to the family of Jenkins Jr., and another will go on display at the Buffalo Wild Wings location in Xenia. Jenkins Jr., who was 11 years old, died in December 2023 in a house fire. Coaches adorned buttons with “22” on them during Thursday’s games in honor of the number Jenkins Jr. wore during games.

Family members wore shirts with Jenkins Jr.,’s name and number 22 on Thursday to the celebration. The Wee Bucs program is also wearing helmet stickers this season with “KLJJ” and “22” imprinted on them in his memory.
