FAIRBORN — The City of Fairborn is on the hunt for the perfect tree for the annual Hometown Holiday Festival.
The tree can be any kind of evergreen but must be 25 feet tall or taller. Trees lodged in fences, wires, or outside city limits are prohibited.
Fairborn city staff will evaluate all potential tree donations before selecting the holiday tree. Once it has been chosen, the tree and root ball will be removed, and a seed will be put down. The tree will then be decorated for the holiday season and lit on Dec. 6 during the Hometown Holiday Festival. A sign indicating the tree’s donor will be on display with the tree while it is up.
The deadline for submission is Oct. 15. To submit a tree for consideration, entrants can call 937-754-3030, or email [email protected]. Fairborn asks that those submitting provide their name, address, the tree’s approximate height, and location in the yard.
