Week 1 Recaps: Fairborn shuts out Tecumseh; OHC teams start strong

SPRINGFIELD — Only one team in the Miami Valley League got out of week one without allowing a point.

Fairborn went on the road to Tecumseh and got the shutout with a 33-0 victory against the Arrows.

The Skyhawks saw its defense hold down Tecumseh to 110 yards of offense and produced a pair of interceptions by Tameron Whitely and Jamar Reid. Four tackles for loss totalled by Almari Byrd, Noah Lawrie, Keyshawn Carter and Isaiah White led the strong opening effort.

Aidan Davis got the season off to a fast start with a 65-yard touchdown run just 92 seconds into the game. Leading 19-0 at the break, Zyaire Cavitt pushed the lead out with a 31-yard TD run, followed by Cameron Fairbcloth bursting 50 yards for another score.

Wesley Rohley completed the only two pass attempts for Fairborn, one of which was pulled down by Brayden Johnson for another score.

The win snapped a three-game losing skid to the Arrows and was Fairborn’s first season opening win since 2020.

Fairborn begins MVL play on Friday when it travels to play Tippecanoe.
