XENIA — Boys soccer district tournament brackets were released on Sunday and Greene County schools got two No. 1-seeds.
Beavercreek is the No. 1 team in the North portion of Division I and Carroll is the same in D-III.
The Beavers (12-0-3) are ranked fifth across the state in D-I and eighth in all divisions, according to MaxPrep’s rankings instituted this year. The Patriots (13-1-2) are ranked second in D-III and 10th across all divisions.
Beavercreek will host No. 5 Wayne in its first game on Oct. 22. Carroll gets No. 16 Greenville at home on Oct. 15 to start its tournament.
Also in D-III, Bellbrook got the four-seed and Xenia is the 12-seed. All three are separated in the brackets until the regional rounds, with Bellbrook and Carroll lined up to meet in a potential regional semifinal game.
Fairborn is in D-II this year and got the fifth seed. They will play on the road at No. 3 Northmont in its first game on Oct. 22.
Greeneview will enter into D-IV for the first time as the 10-seed. They head on the road to No. 7 Calvary Christian on Oct. 15.
Legacy Christian and Yellow Springs are both in the top 5 of the new D-V tournament and get home games on Oct. 19. The Knights, which are in the top 25 of the state rankings, play No. 16-seed Stivers. The Bulldogs play No. 15 Catholic Central.
Beavercreek High School is scheduled to host a D-V regional semifinal, as well as the D-III regional final. Bellbrook High School will host the D-V regional final.
This is the first year of the OHSAA expanding boys soccer from three to five divisions. Individual rounds were renamed to remove the “sectional” designation, with the new names being the district opening round and quarterfinals.
All D-I and D-II begin with the district semifinal round, with D-III through D-V expanding out as needed.
