The Fairborn Board of Education honored award-winning students and instructors during its recent meeting.
FAIRBORN — Fairborn City Schools held a Board of Education meeting to congratulate multiple award-winning students and instructors.
Jevon Dewitt, Vinnie Matthews, and Aeron Van Winkle were presented with the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI) Star Student Scholarships, a STEM centered program with a military community focus in Fairborn. Sarah Fulton was named Gifted Supervisor for her work getting these opportunities for students.
The leadership at Fairborn Intermediate School and all volunteers were congratulated for making their program, Girls on the Run International, an opportunity for girls im grades 3-5, and CMSgt. Steve Ousley was congratulated for his previous award as OIA Subregion Enlisted Instructor of the Year.
Matt Smith, aerospace science instructor, was also congratulated for his work on behalf of the high school’s Air Force JROTC OH-031 program.
