Jackets head south for G-MAC tourney

CEDARVILLE — The No. 5 seed Cedarville University Yellow Jackets travel to No. 4 Kentucky Wesleyan College on Tuesday, Nov. 19 for a first-round contest in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Women’s Volleyball Championship.

Match time is set for 8 p.m. Eastern Time in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Cedarville enters at 16-10 overall while the Panthers are 15-11. Both teams finished 8-4 in the G-MAC, but KWC owned the tiebreaker by winning the regular season match between the two schools.

The Jackets are the only team to qualify for all eight G-MAC Tournaments to ever be played, and they own the most titles with four — 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2016.

Kentucky Wesleyan cruised to a 25-23, 25-10, 25-15 victory in the Callan Athletic Center on Nov. 8 in Cedarville. CU leads the all-time series, 11-6.

The other three first-round matches on Tuesday all begin at 7 p.m. EST:

No. 8 Malone, 10-21, at No. 1 and defending champion Hillsdale, 23-3.

No. 6 Trevecca, 16-16, at No. 3 Walsh, 17-9.

No. 7 Findlay, 9-19, at No. 2 Tiffin, 17-12.

The highest remaining seed will host the semifinals and final on Nov. 22-23. The champion earns the league’s automatic bid to the 64-team NCAA Division II Championship, to be held Dec. 12-14 at the Auraria Events Center in Denver.
