Despite suffering an injury at quarterback and only completing one pass, Beavercreek defeated Northmont 17-7 to remain at the top spot of the area poll. The Beavers (5-1) got the win on Homecoming weekend thanks mostly to their running attack. Tim Bradshaw had 142 yards on the ground on 33 rushing attempts. Quarterback Hunter Maloney had 60 yards running before getting hurt at the beginning of the second half. Backup Cody Hocker completed Beavercreek’s only pass with a 27-yard throw to Jullian Linkhart. Maloney’s status is unknown for this week.

The Beavers return to action on the road this week, playing the Wildcats 7 p.m. this Friday at Springfield.

The Greeneview Rams (4-2) continued to win in week six, blowing out Catholic Central 37-14. They jumped over Carroll in the area poll with the win. Logan Test continued to be the workhorse for the Rams, running for 192 yards and three touchdowns. Collin Matt threw for 35 yards and ran for 44 as well. Greeneview hosts Springfield Northeastern 7 p.m. Friday at Don Nock Field.

The Patriots (3-3) faced another tough opponent Friday, losing 28-7 to Hamilton Badin. Xenia (3-3) continued its hot streak, defeating West Carrollton 43-0 to make it three in a row. The Bucs moved to third place in the Greater Western Ohio Conference, South Division. Danny Naylor threw it all over the field, finishing with 232 yards on 10-for-17 passing attempts. He had three touchdowns and no interceptions: Montel Hurst, Ray James and Mechi Harris each caught a touchdown pass.

The Buccaneers have a tough test if they want to make it four in a row. They face Springboro (5-1, 1-0 GWOC South) at 7 p.m. Friday at Doug Adams Stadium.

After a disappointing loss to Eaton in week five, Bellbrook (2-4) got its first win in the Southwestern Buckeye League with a 23-7 upset win over Valley View on Homecoming weekend. The defense kept the Spartans in check while Golden Eagle running back Connor Oldham ran for 123 yards. Bellbrook plays the Wildcats 7 p.m. Friday at Franklin’s Atrium Stadium.

Things won’t get much easier for the Fairborn Skyhawks (1-5, 0-1 GWOC South) this week. After visiting Springboro last week in a 40-7 loss, the Skyhawks host the GWOC South leading Miamisburg Vikings (5-1, 1-0 GWOC South) 7 p.m Friday at Baker Memorial Stadium. Fairborn managed just 83 yards passing and 67 yards running in the loss to the Panthers.

Rounding out the area poll is Cedarville and Greenon. The Indians lost to North Lewisburg Triad 39-7. The Knights fell on the road at Urbana 59-6. Both teams have home games at 7 p.m this Friday. Cedarville plays West Liberty-Salem and Greenon hosts St. Paris Graham.
