Jackson Aviation scholarship recipients announced

XENIA — The 2014 winners of the Lewis A Jackson Aviation Scholarships have been announced.Dr. Violet B. Jackson began the scholarship program in 2001 in memory of her husband, Dr. Lewis A. Jackson. The aim is to help train Greene County youth for a career in aviation. Since the inception of the program 51 aviation scholarships have been granted.This year’s recipients are Austin Schoening and Chyenne Benson.Schoening, a sophomore at Fairborn High School, will use the scholarship to help him attain his goal of getting his private pilot license. He is an honors student, soccer player and percussionist in the high school band. He enjoys flying with his grandfather.
