SILVERCREEK TOWNSHIP — Harry Heifner was born on a farm in Silvercreek Township in 188e. He worked on his father’s farm then completed his education and went to Dayton as a street railway motorman. He returned to help his father with the livestock business and then began to manage the Wickersham Hotel. In 1914, he bought the furniture, fixtures and building to become the sole owner and proprietor. However, he maintained the original name of the hotel.
