Xenia 160, Bellbrook 168: The Buccaneers edged out the Golden Eagles, Wednesday at the WGC Golf Course thanks in part to a career best from Xenia sophomore Evan Adkins. Adkins shot a season and career low of 33 on the front nine. He birdied the first and ninth holes in his round. Xenia’s other top finishers include Austin Graham (41), Trevor Adkins (43), Alex Bolka (43), Noah Pickering (44) and Austin Newell (45).
Bellbrook’s Matthew Ratcliffe was the top finisher for his team, shooting a 40. The other top finishers for the Golden Eagles were Harry Gildner (42), Alyssa Burritt (43), Haylie Guzda (43), Chad Bacon (43) and Holden Hicks (45).
Xenia (5-3) plays next at the Firebird Invitational at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at NCR Country Club in Kettering. Bellbrook will take on Middletown Christian at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Shaker Run in Middletown.
Troy 4, Xenia 1: Troy topped the Lady Bucs four sets to one, Thursday night at Troy High School. Xenia (2-5) started off strong against the strong Trojan squad (4-1) with Tarah Crawford defeating Hannah Essick 6-1, 6-1 in first singles. Troy would take the rest of the sets in the match. Maggie Hennessy defeated Xenia’s Tabitha Crawford 6-0, 6-0 in second singles and Ashley Bruns defeated Aly Landis 7-5, 6-4 in the third singles matchup.
The Troy tandem of Maddie Kleptz and Marina Wehrkamp defeated Xenia’s Payton McLain and Jodi Collier 6-0, 6-0 in first doubles. Akari Nagata and Zoey Scancarello of Troy defeated Savannah Puckett and Leah Stewart in the second doubles match.
Xenia is back in action against West Carrollton at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Wilson Park.

Troy 170, Bellbrook 185: The Golden Eagles J.V. squad stumbled against Troy, Wednesday at Miami Shores. Bellbrook’s Parker Joyner and Troy’s Alex Gigandet and Austin Rank all tied at 41. Troy’s Keaton Pfeiffer (44) and Bellbrook’s Noah Crosley (45) rounded out the top five.
