Call upon the Lord

0

“I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.” (Psalm 116:1-2)

It is important to love the Lord for what He has done for us, but also, and most importantly, to love Him for Who He is! He loves us unconditionally and we must love Him that way also. It is a hard thing to live unconditional love. We all have expectations and put conditions on God and others.

In our sinful condition how dare we? We have no ground to stand on in our judging. Only God’s Holy Word judges our lives and others. That truth must be received and shared. Mercy is one thing we must cry out to our Lord for. We need His mercy every moment for forgiveness and health.

We will call on the Lord as long as we live. There are many reasons for this. The main reason remains that He is our God. He is our Creator. He is our All in All. He has blessed us with a relationship with Him that is transcending time and space. We have entered Eternity with Him already. His Son has purchased that for us and given it to us as a gift. Yes, we will call on Him as long as we live.

Heavenly Father, we call upon You. Send forth Your power to deal with every situation that touches our life. Have mercy upon us for we are sinful. Forgive us and fill us with Your healing Spirit for newness of life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
