Work here, live here
Heard two Fairborn teachers talking in a public place about how they voted down the school levies last time where one lived in Huber Heights and the other in Beavercreek. Yet they strike our town for raises. Been told that they earn them because of better school teachers, better students. According to Channel 2 here are some of the results:
2013 Value-added ranking — Centerville -45, Beavercreek -34, Xenia -494, Springfield -28, and Fairborn 728
Value added gain index — Centerville 10.48, Beavercreek 11.29, Xenia -0.2, Springfield 12.11, and Fairborn -3.91
Letter grade — Centerville A, Beavercreek A, Xenia C, Springfield A, and Fairborn F
If our superintendent and and teachers who get paid by our tax dollars lived in our town they might take a better interest and pride in their work and job. They may have kids but if they live in another town you can bet their kids are getting a better education and teaching than ours because look at the results. I still say that if you want to work in our town then live in and support our town. Stop bullying us into higher taxes for pay that apparently you’re not earning by not giving our kids the education that yours are getting because you live somewhere else.
You can repeal the city street parking law. Lets do something of importance to Fairborn, pass a law that ALL employees that collect tax dollar pay from Fairborn must live in Fairborn. You want our money and work so then you need to step up and take pride in Fairborn and live here.

Help Fairborn grow for the better
Noticed in the Fairborn newspaper that there are changes coming in Fairborn. First they repealed the law to park vehicles on streets in front of house, size and type does matter. Second they now are permitting the solicitors to come to our homes and peddle their stuff as long as they have permits which means now we need to buy no soliciting signs to keep people off our doorways.
Just was wondering why we don’t repeal laws and rules that will help Fairborn to grow for the better. That being if you work for the city or school or any department that is getting paid by our Fairborn citizens’ tax dollars then you should live permanently in a house in our city. We don’t need people working for the city that live in Columbus, Huber Heights and Beavercreek, just to name a few of the cities some of our tax dollars are paying to these employees. How can they know or do what is best for our town when they don’t live in it?
We used to have people that wanted to work and live in our town. Now they want our money and benefits of which they are using our tax dollars but not wanting to raise their kids or live where they work. If this town is good enough to work for then we are good enough to live here. We need people that care about where they live, and I am sure they care where they live, just not care about where they work. We want a rule that tax dollars pay only those that live here in our town. Other cities are doing it and we want it, too.
