XENIA — Community Blood Center (CBC) has honored Faith Community United Methodist Church with a LifeSaving Ambassadors Club Award for blood drive excellence in 2013.
CBC Account Representative Judy Blankenship presented the award to blood drive volunteers Debbie Spitler, Marie Ford and Sally Brown at the church’s June 9 community blood drive. The blood drive totaled 43 registrations and 35 donations for 117 percent of the collection goal.
Faith Community was recognized as a Silver partner in the LifeSaving Ambassadors Club for hosting at least two blood drives and achieving at least 90 percent of collection goal. Faith Community hosted three Xenia community blood drives during 2013 that resulted in 90 blood donations and achieved 110 percent of the collection goal.
“The donors always enjoy the homemade cookies and sandwiches that are provided at each blood drive hosted by Faith Community,” said CBC’s Judy Blankenship. “We thank blood drive coordinators John and Marie Ford for their commitment to organizing the blood drives and overseeing the Donor Café, and all volunteers and donors who support the Faith Community United Methodist blood drives.”
