“Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be? Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?” declares the Lord. (Isaiah 66:1)
God has a myriad of ways to describe His authority over all things. Everything has originated from Him. Nothing has or ever will be created without His hand in it. How can humankind ever think that they can confine God in any way? He cannot be put into a box, even the Ark of the Covenant.
Everything is under His dominion. God truly dwells with His people – in His people. He always has and always will. We are His Temple. We are His workmanship. We are His house built with living stones of faith in Jesus, the Christ.
Where is heaven? We know where earth is. Or do we? It is clear that wherever we look our God is there. He cares that much for his creation that He didn’t just create us and let us go off spinning through the universe without His watchful eye.
His plan is bigger than any present time. His plan for us is eternal. That He proved in the sending of His Son, Jesus, to die for us. Jesus’ death and resurrection came about by the design of our God to love us into His kingdom for eternity. Thank the Lord!
Heavenly Father, live in us to fulfill Your purpose. Live in us for Your glory. We are a house You have built. We are as living stones. Dwell with and in us, O God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, eternally. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
