FAIRBORN — Fairborn police are seeking information that could help them identify an aggravated robbery suspect.

Officers responded to First American Cash Advance on East Dayton-Yellow Springs Road around 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6.

According to police, the suspect entered the business and implied he had a weapon, though none was displayed, and demanded cash. Once the suspect had obtained an undetermined amount of cash he reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle.

No one was injured in this incident and no customers were in the business at that time.

With several recent robbery incidents taking place in the Greene County area, police encourage residents and local employees to be aware of their surroundings. When involved in such an incident, victims are encouraged to comply with the suspect and try to give a detailed description.

“Just do what the suspect is asking. Nothing is more valuable than someone’s life,” said Fairborn Sgt. Paul Hicks. “Try to focus on the person’s characteristics. The best thing for law enforcement is accurate information. Officers are rarely at the scene of a crime but detailed, accurate information helps greatly when investigating incidents such as this.”

Hicks suggests that anyone who witnesses such an incident should listen to how the suspect talks, watch how they walk, and watch what hand do they use. Try to remember any physical attributes such as any visible tattoos and/or scars and what they look like, including height, weight, and hair style and length.

This suspect is described as a black male, standing 6-foot to 6-foot 3-inches tall, with a thin build and a thin mustache. He was wearing a red outer jacket/shirt with a gray hooded sweatshirt underneath and red sweat pants.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Fairborn Police Department at 937-754-3000.
