CINCINNATI — Robert J. Reid, an experienced labor law attorney, is joining the Archdiocese of Cincinnati as Director of Human Resources, effective Nov. 22. He succeeds Bill Hancock, who is retiring.
The Archdiocese of Cincinnati includes Catholic churches in Greene County.
“I’m really excited about this opportunity,” he said. “I look forward to getting to know the people I’m going to be serving.”
The Elder High School graduate holds a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in business from Xavier University, and a law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. He has been a partner and member of the Furnier Law Group, specializing in labor and employment Law. Prior to helping to found that firm, he was an attorney with Dinsmore & Shohl for 18 years. At Dinsmore, he represented the Archdiocese of Cincinnati in labor and employment law matters. He is certified as a specialist in labor and employment law by the Ohio State Bar Association.
A native and life-long resident of Cincinnati’s west side, Rob and his family are parishioners at St. Jude Church in Bridgetown. He and his wife, Kathy, have four children in Catholic schools. Kathy is a first-grade teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes School in Westwood.
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cincinnati is the 38th largest Catholic diocese in the country, with almost 500,000 Catholics, and has the sixth largest network of Catholic schools in terms of enrollment. The 19-county territory includes 213 parishes and 113 Catholic primary and secondary schools.
