FAIRBORN — The Fairborn Area Historical Society will hold a membership meeting to include the theater mural unveiling and dedication 2 p.m. Sunday, April 17 at the Fairborn Senior Center, 325 N. Third St.

Local historian Allan Routt will be the featured presenter. Routt is well-known locally for his collection of historic photos of Fairborn. He has agreed to share many of those photos at the meeting. Routt’s Power Point presentation will spur both memories and lively discussion about the events associated with the photos. Light refreshments will be available.

Officers will be elected at this meeting. The agenda also includes a brief review of the year’s accomplishments. Part of that review will be the official dedication and unveiling of the Theater Mural, which was recently moved from the Fairborn Theater on Broad Street to its permanent home in the Senior Center.

The Fairborn Area Historical Society was organized in 2015 to preserve our area’s unique history. In early 2016, the scope of the Society was broadened to include Wright Patterson Air Force Base and Bath Township.

The meeting is free and open to the public.
