Glen Helen hosted a Raptor Center Earth Day program April 23, inviting locals to bring a blanket and camera to learn about native raptors who call the Glen Helen Raptor Center their home.

Attendees had the opportunity to learn about the species of birds Glen Helen officials provide care to while seeing them up close. Species included barn and screech owls, falcons, among others.

Glen Helen received 167 birds last year, but 58 percent of them were released back into their natural wild homes after they were rehabilitated.
