Local DAR celebrates milestones

ENON — The Rebecca Galloway Chapter DAR celebrated its origins during its February meeting at the Enon Community Historical Society’s Research Center.

Huge scrapbooks were on display with photos and news of the many activities the chapter has enjoyed since 1973. The celebration continued as members initiated a new member, Carol Congi, and welcomed back her mother Barbara Parsons who joined with the original groups but went inactive during her teaching years.

The celebrations continued as members were awarded certificates for several milestones. Ten-years of service went to Libby Corona, Virginia Northern, Marie Reedy and Barb Rollins. A 30-year certificate went to Janet Walker and 40-year certificates went to Marti Riddle, Peggy Griffin-Seeburg and Ruth St. Pierre.

A regular meeting followed with celebratory refreshments, while members shared their interesting hobbies.
