FAIRBORN — The Fairborn Lions Club sponsored the Fairborn Christmas Project for the fourth year.

Thanks to 35 sponsors and 24 donors, more than 417 registered families were supported; of these, 155 families were sponsored by 16 individual families, 12 organizations and seven churches. The families that didn’t get sponsored will be given food vouchers to be used as cash at the Fairborn Save-a-Lot and Kroger stores. The 417 families represented more than 976 individuals.

However, donations are $5000 short of what is needed to give the traditional amount to each family. To donate to the Fairborn Christmas Project, make checks out to the Greene County Community Foundation with Fairborn Christmas Project in the check notes section. Send to Fairborn Lions Club at P.O. Box 87, Fairborn, Ohio 45324. This qualifies the fund as a 501 (c) 3 organization for tax purposes.

Lions clubs are groups of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill them.
