FAIRBORN — Abiding Christ Lutheran Church in Fairborn presents “Bye Bye Birdie” June 24-26 through special arrangement with Tams Witmark Music Library Inc.
This family-friendly show was written by Michael Stewart, music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Lee Adams. It was originally produced by Edward Padula in 1960 at the Martin Beck Theater. The cast and crew at Abiding Christ consist of over 60 youth and adults. Every summer, Abiding Christ presents a musical, and for the last few years, a theater camp has been included in the rehearsal schedule for the children.
Families do not have to pay tuition for their children to participate in the camp. In order to offset costs for families, all of the productions include dinner before the show, which serves as a fundraiser for the music program. Friday and Saturday are dinner theater performances and Sunday is a dessert buffet.
