DAYTON — Premier Health Plan has announced the appointment of Renee George to the position of president. In this role, she will be responsible for continued growth and expansion of the health plan, while also achieving financial results.

George brings extensive health care leadership experience to Premier Health Plan. She joined Premier Health in 2008 as system vice president, revenue cycle, and currently is vice president of operations for Premier Health Plan, a position she’s held since 2014. While in this role, George has created operational infrastructure within the plan, collaborated with Premier Health Group to achieve a 4-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services on the Medicare Advantage product during its first year of measurement, and was instrumental in leading the newly formed accountable care organization’s bid for participation in a Medicare shared savings program.

Prior to joining Premier Health, George’s experience included eight years in leadership at Mercy Health Partners in Cincinnati as regional vice president, revenue cycle; regional director, patient financial services; and regional manager, payment and audit recovery.

George holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree in Health Administration from University of Kentucky, and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in management from Georgia State University. She is a Fellow, Academy for Healthcare Management, America’s Health Insurance Plans, and a Fellow, Healthcare Financial Professional, Healthcare Financial Management Association.

“The depth of Renee’s knowledge makes her an excellent choice for the position of president,” said Tom Duncan, senior vice president and chief financial officer, Premier Health. “She is highly skilled and prepared to lead the health plan in service to our communities.”
