BATH TOWNSHIP — A two-vehicle accident just outside of Fairborn caused seven injuries on Wednesday afternoon. Three of the injured were transported to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. The accident occurred at the intersection of Trebein Road and State Route 235 in Bath Township.
Lieutenant Douglas Eck with the Ohio State Patrol called the injuries “possibly serious,” but didn’t believe they were life threatening at the time.
Eck said that a preliminary investigation revealed that a silver Infiniti had stopped on Trebein Road and pulled out into the intersection in front of a Mustang that was driving south on 235. The state patrol received the accident call at 1:41 p.m.
“Given the nature of the crash being a T-bone crash, if the driver of the silver car isn’t seriously injured, they’ll be very, very fortunate,” Eck said. “These type of crashes are often fatalities.”
“We’re optimistic that in this particular one, there are going to be injuries but no fatalities,” he said. “Take your time when you’re at an intersection. If you can’t see, don’t pull out. If you don’t think you have enough time, wait. You can’t be too cautious at an intersection.”
