Berean Baptist welcomes new pastor

FAIRBORN — The Berean Baptist Temple, located at 2445 Trebein Road, began with Pastor Lonnie R. Bocook, his wife, Joan, their two sons, Chad and Shane, and some other believers, in the Fairborn YMCA, on Jan. 1, 1984. The Church was organized on April 1, 1984 and recently celebrate 30 years of God’s blessings.

Pastor Bocook will be retiring in May 2015. The church has recently called Co-Pastor Joe Hofmann, who will serve alongside Pastor Bocook and become the Senior Pastor upon his retirement. Hofmann, and his wife, Tara, have two sons, Ethan and Owen.

Pastor Hofmann attended Pensacola Christian College and later transferred to the Heritage Baptist University, from which he graduated earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Studies. He comes to Berean from the Southeast Baptist Tabernacle in Indianapolis, Ind., leaving his position as an Assistant Pastor.

He began ministering at Berean on Sunday, June 8. Pastor Bocook would like to invite everyone to come out and meet Pastor Joe. Service times include 10 a.m. Sunday school, 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Wednesday.
