The event will take place Saturday, May 18 in the Kings Yard from 5-10 p.m. The event is in its second year and was started mainly as an event to promote awareness for September’s Cyclops Fest. According to event organizer Brian Johnson, Dynamite Soul has become an event all its own. “Its primary purpose was to raise awareness for Cyclops Fest. However, it quickly has taken on a life of its own and has almost become a stand-alone event,” Johnson said. The block party is an opportunity for local DJs to show off their talents. Featured artists include Turntable Philanthropy from and Skratchmatik Turntable Crew. Skratchmatik is a local group that has been playing in Dayton for more than 10 years.
